DescriptionDiamond Dust Light Pillars, Rochester, NY 1993.png
English: In the early morning hours of December 27, 1993, the National Weather Service reported "ice crystals" at the KROC Rochester Airport, a condition commonly known as "diamond dust". The condition manifested as "light pillars" by which all ground-based light sources reflect off the flat facets of the crystals, creating the illusion of pillars of light extending high into the air. This was photographed using a Pentax K-1000 camera on Kodak Gold 400 film.
