DescriptionDemonstration of acute accent in multiple font.svg
English: This image demonstrates the acute accent in multiple fonts.
From left-to-right, top-to-bottom order: Arial, Roboto, Fira Sans, Times New Roman, Palatino Linotype, Playfair Display, Adobe HeiTi Std, SimSun, SimHei.
Arial, Roboto, Fira Sans, Adobe HeiTi Std and SimHei are sans-serif fonts while Times New Roman, Palatino Linotype, Playfair Display and SimSun are serif fonts.
Grey letters indicate that the letter is replaced by OpenType when the text locale is changed to Polish to demonstrate the steeper look of kreska. Notice that Polish ó in Fira Sans and Playfair Display are steeper than Western ó.
The last 3 fonts, Adobe HeiTi Std, SimSun and SimHei, demonstrate the letters in the usage of Pinyin. All the letters are fixed width (manual kerning is done on Adobe HeiTi Std to constrict space). In Adobe HeiTi Std and SimSun, the stroke goes from bottom-left (thicker) to top-right (thinner), showing the rising nature of the tone. SimHei however makes the acute accent without variation in thickness.
