• It shows the location from which the Kumudini ferry boat left for the island of Naina Tivu
• The jetty is renamed as Kumuthini jetty in remembrance of the victims of the boat massacre
• As we don't have a picture of the massacre victims or the boat itself it is the next best picture to illustrate the event.
• It is a historic picture that shows the effect of civil war on civilians
