Deutsch: Das Wappen veranschaulicht die frühere Herrschaftsgebiete, die auf dem Gebiet des jetzigen Landkreises existierten. Die sogenannte Zollernvierung erinnert an die Markgrafschaft Brandenburg-Ansbach und der Bischofsstab an das Hochstift Eichstätt, während die goldene Spitze auf die ehemals pfalz-neuburgischen Gebietsteile um Hilpoltstein hinweist. Die rote Rose erinnert als sogenannte Asylrose an das in Roth bis 1797 bestehende kaiserliche Asyl. Durch ihre zentrale Position auf dem Wappen unterstreicht sie die Mittelpunktfunktion der Stadt Roth als Sitz des Landratsamtes. |
