Summary

Description
English: The normal cellular process of methylation of cytosine is followed by spontaneous deamination of 5-methyl-cytosine to thymine. Thus follows the creation of CG-poor areas in the genome. Areas rich in CG show low rates of methylation and high amounts of "house-keeping" genes. As per Molecular biology of the Cell 5th edition
