Description
English: The historical coat of arms of Borsod county
Magyar: Borsod vármegye címere.

Borsod vármegye területén a 11–12. században alakulhatott ki comitatus. Nevét a hagyomány szerint a honfoglaláskor megszálló Örs és Bors vezérek utódairól kapta. A 11. században központja Borsodvár lett. Később a Diósgyőrben felépített királyi vár királyaink, leginkább az Anjouk kedvelt

tartózkodási helye lett. A csücskös talpú pajzs mezejében kétfarkú oroszlán látható, kiöltött nyelvvel. Bal mellső lábával kétkarú mérleget mint igazságszimbólumot, felemelt jobb lábával nyitott, rubinnal, zafírral és igazgyönggyel kirakott levélkoronát tart. A címerpajzsot nyitott, rubinnal, zafírral és igazgyönggyel kirakott levélkorona díszíti.
