Description
English: Panteleimon, a physician who became a saint through his great charity for the poor, miracles, and martyrdom, is shown here with a lancet in his right hand. This tile is one among three in the Walters Art Museum that have the same size and contain identical busts of male saints: the other two depict Saint Basil (inv. 48.2086.17) and Saint Arethas (inv. 48.2086.2).
