Summary
| Description |
The 2018 Flying Legends Airshow included a section commemorating the filming of the Battle of Britain movie, 50 years earlier at this very airfield. An attack and dogfight sequence was carried out using 7 fighters which had taken part in the original filming. Alongside three well-known Spitfires were no less than FOUR Hispano HA.1112 Buchons, masquerading then and now as German Bf109s. From top to bottom the four are:- 'Yellow 10' (G-AWHK) c/n 172 and originally Spanish Air Force 'C.4K-102', 'Red 11' (G-AWHC) c/n 40/2, a rare two-seat M4L variant and originally Spanish Air Force 'C.4K-112', 'White 9' (G-AWHH) c/n 145 and originally Spanish Air Force 'C.4K-105' and 'Yellow 7' (G-AWHM) c/n 187 and originally Spanish Air Force 'C.4K-99'.
