English: Bradwell Cockle Spit. This is a view across Bradwell Cockle Spit Nature Reserve which consists of 252 acres of saltmarsh and shingle with a 30 acres shell bank. It is a haven for wading birds and other wildlife. The reserve is managed by Essex Wildlife Trust see http://www.essexwt.org.uk/visitor_centres__nature_reserves/bradwell_shellbank_and_saltings/ . Since this photo was taken the reserve has been renamed Bradwell Shell Bank.
