Summary

Description
English: Bonapartenykus is a relatively basal alvarezsauroid dinosaur that lived approximately 71 million years ago in the Late Cretaceous of what is now Argentina. True alvarezsaurs are some of the smallest non-avian dinosaurs, but Bonapartenykus is considerably larger at about 2.5 m in length, and weighing around 70 kg. Though lacking in the fossil record, it is thought that it had the diminshed arms and single large claw that derived alvarezsaurs are known for.
