English: Abana is a tiny town at the Black Sea coast, some 20 kilometers to the East of Inebolu, along the coastal road to Sinop. Abana seems to be a rather popular holiday resort. I am not certain if some Bozkurt pictures did not mix with the others, that are of Abana itself (and its beach).
Abana is a tiny town at the Black Sea coast, some 20 kilometers to the East of Inebolu, along the coastal road to Sinop. I spent some hours here in June 2005 and walked the 2 kilometers inland towards Bozkurt, a somewhat larger town. Abana seems to be a rather popular holiday resort, and I can imagine the beach would get crowded in months to come. The interior is nice, and behind Bozkurt even great, so with your own transport or hopping the regular minibus to Kastamonu you may reconnoiter some fine hills. The road towards Sinop provides some marvelous views and on several spots I wanted to get off and walk into the small villages and the lush hills. Must be great to have your own transport here (but be careful not to hit the cows who wonder into the road). Things probably changed somewhat.
