DescriptionA map of Golconda region from 1733, published by Homann Heirs Nuremberg.jpg
English: This 2D print was published in 1733, it is now part of the Clark Library Rare Collections, University of Michigan (Accession no. 46277).
The map highlights Golconda. All cities and towns have native Telugu (Indian) names. Many of modern era names such as Hyderabad are not in this or other early maps that were published by European merchants, visitors and cartographers through the late 18th-century. Instead of Hyderabad and other names adopted in 18th and 19th century, these maps show Bagnagar (Bhagyanagar), Colconda and more ancient regional names.
Original publisher: Homann Heirs; Language: Latin; Size: 46 cm x 56 cm
