Description1978 AMC AMX at AMO 2015 meet in black with gold stripe 1of3.jpg
English: 1978 AMC AMX, a compact sports coupe built by American Motors Corporation. Based on the Concord hatchback model, this design version of the performance AMX was available only for the 1978 model year. The car did not have Concord badges or identification. The AMX featured the front fascia with single round headlights, a flush grille, round amber parking lights, and a "power bulge" hood from the AMC Gremlin. The 1978 AMX colors were limited to white, red, yellow, silver metallic, or a special version in "Classic Black." This car features the black paint, which also included gold body side stripes that continued up and over the roof band, as well as gold paint accents for the slot-styled wheels. This car has been equipped with AMC's 14x7 "Turbocast II" wheels that became available with the 1979 models. This car has the optional carryover Hornet AMX decal on the rear deck and hood. Picture was taken at the American Motors Owners Association (AMO) annual convention that was held in July 2015 near Cleveland, Ohio.
