Summary

Description
English: 1966 Rambler Rebel 2-door hardtop - the top-of-the-line version of American Motors' (AMC) intermediate-sized two-door hardtop (no B-pillar) Rambler Classic models. Standard on the Rebel were slim-type bucket seats and special trim. The "Custom" interior with unique cloth upholstery inserts along with two matching throw pillows was available. A total of 7,512 Rambel Rebel hardtops were made for the 1966 model year. This is a "muscle car" with its factoty-equipped AMC's high-performance 327 cu in (5.4 L) V8 engine with a 4-barrel Holley carburetor producing 270 horsepower (201 kW; 274 PS) along with the optional floor-mounted four-speed manual transmission (T-10), a limited-slip differential (AMC called them 'Twin-Grip"), a dash-mounted tachometer, power steering, power front-disk brakes, adjustable tilt steering wheel, and an AM/FM radio. The car is finished in Sungold Amber Metallic (code 37A) with a black vinyl-covered roof. The hardtop roof design was only for 1966 as the Rambler Rebel line was completely redesigned for the 1967 model year. The full wheel covers are AMC's optional"Turbocast" design. Photographed during the 2021 American Motors Owners (AMO) convention that was held in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA.
