English: An A-10 Thunderbolt II sits on the aircraft ramp ar Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. The aircraft was recently flown by A-10 pilot, "Zucco," in a harrowing mission to support ambushed Coalition forces fighting during dangerous weather conditions. Pilots and a dozen other pilots from their home unit, the 104th Fighter Squadron with the Maryland Air National Guard, protected about 90 coalition servicemembers during a major battle in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan.
