숭례문(崇禮門, 남대문) 안쪽에서 문루 방향으로 거리 풍경을 담은 입체사진(stereograph)이다. 사진의 테두리에 호주 제작회사인 ‘더 로즈 스테레오그래프(The Rose Stereographs)’라는 회사명이 인쇄되어 있다. 도로 왼쪽으로 남대문 홍예를 거쳐 용산 방향으로 지나는 전차선로가 있고, 길을 따라 많은 지게꾼들이 배추나 무를 올려놓고 거래가 이뤄지기를 기다리는 광경이다. 길거리에 백립(白笠)을 쓴 사람이 있어 명헌태후(明憲太后, 1904년 1월) 또는 황태자비 순명비(純明妃, 1904년 11월)의 국상(國喪) 기간에 촬영된 것으로 추정된다.
