Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Founders

edit

I was wondering if it's possible to add a 'Founders' section to the Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Haripur page? From my research, I found that the institute has two founders: Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman and Mushtaq Ghani. Mushtaq Ghani, the former Higher Education Minister, played a significant role in the establishment of the institute. Janabanigu (talk) 20:07, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

It is possible to add, of course, if there's a reliable source for that, an article, newspaper, or any website mentioning that Mushtaq Ghani was involved in the institute's establishment. I don't remember seeing Mushtaq Ghani when I was finding sources for the Wikipedia page. I just did a search and there are 5 results in total, one doesn't work, two do not mention his role and one is from Facebook. The only article, which is partially of significance is this: https://www.thenews.com.pk/print/437103-kp-assembly-speaker-appears-before-nab
As you can see it doesn't say much except his abuse of power and that he was the Minister of Higher Education at the time. In the current scenario I don't think it's suitable to add a "Founders" section or Mushtaq Ghani. ExoField (talk) 12:31, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

please add references for this paragraph I could not see any thing related to the mentioned paragraph '' In 2005, Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman, who was the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (Pakistan) at the time, presented and secured approval of a Rs250 billion project to establish seven cutting-edge universities centered around Engineering, Science and Technology in collaboration with China and several European countries. These universities were intended to shift and evolve the Higher Education sector in Pakistan so as to empower its young population to take part in the global technology sector'' Janabanigu (talk) 18:43, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

I think you are misjudging Mushtaq Ghani's role here.
The first reference:
"The higher education minister shared that the government had also passed the University Amended Act 2016, from the provincial assembly and established the Pakistan-Austria Fachhochshule institute in Haripur."
The only sentence which mentions his role, which says that he notified the press about the act and the establishment of the university. This is something which happened during his tenure, not because of it.
Second reference, he talks about improving University of Haripur by collaborating with Austrian universities, again no mention of the institute. Pakistani envoys have gone to Austria many times, it does not always mean they were there for this particular institute.
Third reference. Again, same thing as reference 2, he mentions that existing universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be provided with the services of Austrian experts.
There are about four different people, which I didn't mention in the article, who have a much greater role in the institute's establishment. The only issue is notability, there aren't many articles or websites which mention their role. ExoField (talk) 19:56, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@ExoField see he visited austria with the (dr atta) and brought these education systems to Pakistan without the government stance you can't establish the well institute.
2: Please add more references regarding the dr atta role. if available this article needs more citation. Janabanigu (talk) 20:01, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Dr Atta's role is present on the official website, that's the reason I included him. ExoField (talk) 20:03, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please read my points thoroughly. I do want to expand the article and include more people in its involvement, but you must look at it from a neutral perspective. ExoField (talk) 20:04, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@ExoField thanks but see if you have more research on this thanks. add more notable people who are involved in this. Janabanigu (talk) 20:06, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you really want to contribute to this page, or other pages involving Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Universities, please find a good image of the institute and add it here. ExoField (talk) 20:08, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@ExoField add more references regarding the entities you mentioned then resubmit the page. I would suggest please use strong references like example dawn, tribune Janabanigu (talk) 11:58, 12 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Some comments

edit

I looked this over following the invitation at WP:HE. A few comments:

  • The lead should summarise the body of the article, but it currently contains information about the campus and focus that aren't found it body
  • The 'Campus' and 'Academic profile' sections from the standard organisation of a university article aren't currently present. These would be the natural places to put (and expand upon) the information in the lead.
  • The article uses American English spelling ('centered', 'program'); my understanding (and I could be wrong) was that Pakistani English, which is the obvious English variant for the article, generally following British spelling.
  • What is meant by "foreign university" is not explained. "Foreign university" implies a university that is based and accredited in another country and operating in Pakistan under HEC approval, like the University of Bolton Islamabad. Here, it seems to mean that the university is operating in the style of an Austrian Fachhochdchule, which is not there obvious meaning.
  • The nature of the university and its links to Austria – whether this is simply a collaboration with Austrian universities or something deeper – is unclear. This is something that could useful be included in an 'Academic profile' section.

Hope this helps. Robminchin (talk) 14:32, 12 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much for taking out time to review the article, I'll keep all of those points in mind. ExoField (talk) 16:34, 13 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
