Deutsche Bahn AG owns 579 companies in and outside of Germany. Deutsche Bahn is also a minority shareholder of 123 other companies.

History
editWhile preparing an initial public offering (IPO), the corporate structure of Deutsche Bahn was reorganized in 2008. Separate brands were introduced for different departments. The passenger transport division was managed under the DB Bahn brand, the infrastructure and services division under the DB Netze brand and the transport and logistics division under the DB Schenker brand.[4]

editIn 2011, DB Energie was subject to an investigation by the European Commissions due to suspicions of abusing their dominant position.[5] It was resolved in 2013.[6]
