Jafaa is a 2024 Pakistani romantic drama television series, written by Samira Fazal and directed by Danish Nawaz. Produced by Momina Duraid under the banner MD Productions, the series aired on 24 May 2024. It stars Mawra Hocane, Sehar Khan, Usman Mukhtar and Mohib Mirza.[1] The series revolves around two cousins who face a range of emotions and mental struggle after their marriages.[2]

Plot
editThe story centers around Andaleeb, a medical student, and Dr. Zara, a gynecologist. Andaleeb shares a deep bond with her father and is secretly in a a relationship with her classmate Moiz. Meanwhile, Dr. Zara navigates her new marriage.
As Andaleeb and Moiz's relationship blossoms, they face obstacles due to classism,, leading to their heart-wrenching separation when her parents arrange a suitable match for her, according to them. At first, the newly married Zara unable to understand her husband Hassan's behaviour but later gets awares about his gaslighting. Amidst this, she harbors secrets that threaten to upend the lives of those around him.

Production
editPrincipal photography commenced in Islamabad in November 2023[8]. Hocane returned to the set in April 2024, after completing another project.[9] She described her character as a gynecologist who navigates high-pressure situations in her marital life.[3] Meanwhile, Mukhtar confirmed his involvement in the project, portraying an oncologist.[10]
